Safari Jeeping Tours
The tours are an hour long and have both scenic calm moments, and more thrilling ride times. The tour will stop at the Yatir ruins for a look at the ancient caves and structures.
When you check in at the campsite, you’ll be able to reserve a seat on a jeeping tour. Please arrive with enough time to ensure that your whole party can get on a ride.
The Safari Jeep rides are for ages 3+ only. If you have a child or baby under 3, we recommend splitting your family into two shifts on the safari so that someone can stay behind with the baby. Alternatively, contact us in advance and we can connect you with a responsible teen who you can hire to babysit while you enjoy your ride.
Pregnant women who have been advised to avoid extreme activity should consult with their doctor before taking the ride, and be aware that there will be bumpy moments.
Sleeping Options
There are three options for sleeping:
Pitch your own tent:
Bring your own tent, and pitch it in the beautiful campsite area. There is plenty space under the shade or sun, however you prefer!
If you don’t have your own tent, you’re in luck! This time of year you can find tents on sale everywhere, from Decathlon to MaxStock, for as little as ₪100. Alternatively, we have a few small tents available for rent—please contact us in advance to reserve.
Sleep in the Sukkah – men only:
We will have two sukkahs—one will be for eating, and open to everyone. The other will be for sleeping, and will be for men only. Due to limited space, please only sleep here if you registered in advance.
Glamping style – women only:
There will be one large canvass tent with tile floors available for women and girls to sleep in. The tent is climate-controlled, and comes with mattresses (please do not remove the mattresses from the tent).
The tent will be used for activities until 6pm, and will be switched to camping after that.
Location
Weather & Climate
The average climate for early October in the Yatir forest is a 28 Celsius (82 Fahrenheit) high, and 18 Celsius (64 Fahrenheit) low, with a constant cool breeze. At night the feel can get cold, so please bring a sweater or jacket.
Food & Drink
A moderate amount of fridge and freezer space are available for anyone who needs to store food. Please package and label your food clearly, and clean it out of the fridge before you leave.
There is a cold drinking water station, for refilling your bottles throughout the day!
Be sure to pack enough food for four meals: lunch, supper, breakfast, and lunch again.
In the evening we will have a hotdog stand serving up hotdogs in a bun with ketchup and mustard at a minimal price.
Checkout
We need to be cleaned up and checked out of the campsite at 10am. The hiking trip will be after we pack up. Please respect the site workers and cleaners by being completely packed up and out by this time, so that they can get their break and prepare for the next group.
We look forward to welcoming you!
